Adult wards: Recommended 10am–8pm on adult inpatient wards; up to 2 visitors per patient at a time (ask the nurse in charge for more). Maternity: Two birth partners during labour and birth (one in theatre). Antenatal and postnatal wards and induction of labour: one support person 8am–9pm and can stay overnight; up to 2 additional visitors 2pm–8pm, including children; the baby's siblings welcome (supervised). Children's wards: Parents, guardians or main carer can visit 24 hours; one parent recommended to stay overnight unless the child is critically ill; siblings and friends under 16 at a suitable time agreed with the nurse in charge. Check with the ward before you travel, as times can change.

The main patient and visitor car park has closed while a new multi-storey is built; use the alternative spaces reached via Dudwell Lane or Godfrey Road, or on-street parking nearby (not residents' zones). Parking is limited, so allow extra time. Barrier car parks are pay-on-foot (coins and notes, change given); a few pay-and-display spaces near the emergency department (coins only, no change). New charges from 17 September 2026. Charges: up to 20 minutes: Free, up to 2 hours: £4, 2 to 4 hours: £6, 4 to 6 hours: £7.50. Free for Blue Badge holders (go to the main entrance front desk). Free for chemotherapy and renal dialysis patients, frequent outpatients (3+ appointments a month for 3 months), patients unexpectedly admitted from clinic or A&E, parents of under-18 inpatients overnight (7.30pm–8am, up to 2 vehicles), one next of kin of critical care patients, and next of kin of end-of-life patients (up to 4 days, reviewed).
